Science Department

Temple High School’s Science department consists of sixteen teachers who have graduated from a variety of highly reputable universities including Purdue University, Texas A&M University, University of Texas, Texas Tech University, Abilene Christian University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Texas State University and Colorado State University.  Some have received graduate degrees from Texas A&M, University of Texas at Arlington, Tarleton State University and University of Tennessee.  In the spring of 2017, Temple High School Science department received a state distinction which means we finished in the top 25% of the state for STAAR and advanced courses scores compared to other schools that are similar to us in demographics.  Our department offers programs up to the AP and IB levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Systems.  We also offer alternative classes like Integrated Physics and Chemistry and Astronomy.  Advanced academics science students are offered opportunities to travel and apply what they’ve learned in real-life scenarios.  In the spring of 2017, Mrs.Bollinger and Mr.Marek took our students to the Galapagos Islands.  In the spring of 2018, Mrs.Bollinger and Ms.LaFevers will accompany our students to Iceland.
