This year the Corps is commanded by Cadet Colonel Alexis DeGraaff, and the Senior Staff consists of Brandon Potter, Dwight Roberts, Lockelyn Wright, Bri’Anna Hernandez, Caleb Dlugas and Jessica Huber. This year the Temple Program has over 275 cadets, which makes it one of the largest Air Force JROTC programs in the nation.
The cadets at Temple participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, such as color guards for school and community functions and ceremonies, a Push-up Squad for Temple High School football games, competition drill teams and an orienteering program. They also march in the Annual Temple Christmas Parade, help serve meals at H.E.B.’s Holiday Feast of Sharing, visit the VA Hospital, conduct park cleanups and support other school and community events.
But the single biggest event is their Veterans Day Parade, and these cadets feel privileged to be able to honor our veterans in this way.
The public is invited and admission is free, so come and join the Junior ROTC unit on November 10th at 10:30 a.m. And invite your friends and veterans you know, to help the cadets pay tribute to those who have done so much to protect our freedoms.
