Temple High School is excited to announce that three students have been named National Merit Scholar Finalists: Megan Babowicz, Dylan Prather and Andrew Tye. We are so very proud of these students!

Lessons are taught at home through videos sent home by teachers, and homework is instead done at school, giving teachers one-on-one time to help students out. Temple High School is one of 20 schools across the state chosen to participate in the "Raise Your Hand Texas Blended Learners" project. As part of that project, a pilot group of teachers are flipping their classrooms this year. Those pilot teachers include Laura Betik, Stephen Bishop, Jason Hoelscher, Greg Luke, Kayleigh Moran, Diane Nichols, Andrea Perurena, Jacob Schwab, Clare Stratmann, Matthew Stratmann, and Jason Talton.

The first weekend in January was a busy time for Temple High School senior, Angel Tolbert. After traveling to New Orleans with the jazz band and performing at the eighth annual Jazz Education Network conference, Tolbert immediately flew back to Texas to participate in auditions for Texas All-State Choir the next day. At school, she is a member of Meistersingers, the varsity mixed choir, and Polyfoniks. She is also the vocalist for the Highlighters.

Temple High School was the recent recipient of the EdTechTeam's Student Summit Grant. Student Summits are immersive educational event where students work with world class educators learning to how to utilize technology. On Friday, January 20th, over 90 THS students attended sessions on digital portfolios, coding, animation, and Google tools.

Temple High School was one of only 11 school districts from across Texas invited to showcase technology at the Capitol in Austin. Temple ISD is unique because we offer a high tech education for ALL students.

There will be a free SAT prep class on February 18th and 25th for juniors from 9 - 3 at THS. This two part class will teach over 75+ strategies for taking the test. To reserve a spot, please select the "Read More link" to sign your child up.

The Theater Department is presenting "Oklahoma!' from February 1st through the 5th in the Temple High School Auditorium.

Students at Garcia Elementary School created a video to share their support for the Temple Wildcat Football team as they go to State Playoffs on Saturday, December 17th.
