All students will be required to spend time outside the normal school day to fulfill the requirements of this program.
DANCE

The Dance II-IV classes are open only to 10th-12th grade students, require the completion of Dance I, and are geared toward experienced students to enhance their dance skills and performance abilities.
All dance classes consist of comprehensive studies of dance covering ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical stage dance, choreography, and hip-hop, rhythmical dancing, stomp, flamenco, Irish step dancing, tap, and team-building activities. Dance students are required to perform in the annual spring shows/recitals and will be required to spend time outside the normal school day and on weekends to fulfill the requirements for credit for this class.

Kittens Dance Team – Dance Performance Ensemble I-IV
Grade Level: 9 –12
Acceptance into both JV Kittens and Varsity Kittens is determined through an audition process in front of a judging panel and is based on physical coordination (marching and dancing), performance ability, and academic achievement. This is a year-round course and begins with a mandatory summer boot camp and team training camp, and ends with our annual spring show/recital. Rehearsals are held before, during, or after school each day. Students will be required to spend time outside the normal school day and on weekends to fulfill the requirements for credit for this class. Students will receive a PE credit in the fall and a Fine Arts credit in the spring.
KITTEN LEADERS
Kitten Leaders are selected by the Dance Department Directors and consist of both Dance Officers and Social Officers. Dance Officers are the student leaders of the dance team(s); Social Officers are responsible for team morale, shirt designs, and the creative and artistic aspects of the dance teams.
Students must be a member in good standing within the Kitten organization and must possess outstanding attendance records and rapport on campus. This course is for local credit only and does not count towards the Fine Arts or PE graduation requirement.
